  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas.
  3. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter to the bananas, mixing until smooth.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, slightly underbake them.
  • Feel free to substitute walnuts with pecans or omit them altogether.
