  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine buttermilk and Cajun seasoning. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove chicken from the marinade, dredge in the flour mixture, and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. For the aioli, mix mayonnaise and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  6. Assemble the sandwich with fried chicken, aioli, lettuce, and tomato on the buns.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in the buttermilk and flour.
  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of Cajun seasoning.
