Cajun Potato Soup Recipe

A delightful and easy Cajun Potato Soup recipe that combines the smoky flavors of turkey bacon and chicken ham for a comforting bowl of goodness.

  • 6 medium potatoes, diced
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced potatoes and chicken ham, then pour in the chicken broth.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. Add the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning, stirring well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more Cajun seasoning or some diced jalapeños.
  • This soup can also be made with leftover cooked potatoes.
