- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup cream or milk
- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (such as thyme and rosemary)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced potatoes with cream, herbs, sautéed onions and garlic, salt, and pepper.

- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
