Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool before frosting.
  7. For the frosting, beat softened cream cheese and butter together until creamy, then add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  8. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cake.
