Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes

This recipe combines perfectly seared steak with buttery, garlic-infused potatoes for a delicious and hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 pound baby potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Add minced garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast steak for an additional 10-15 minutes, or to desired doneness.
  6. In another pot, boil baby potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes.
  7. Drain the potatoes and toss with remaining butter, salt, and pepper.
  8. Serve the steak with garlic butter potatoes.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, add more herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice to the potatoes before serving.
