Ingredients

  • 14 ounces firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
  2. Toss the tofu in cornstarch until fully coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the tofu and cook until golden on all sides.
  5. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  6. Pour the mixture over the tofu and stir to combine.
  7. Cook for additional 5 minutes, allowing sauce to thicken.
  8. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, bake the tofu instead of frying.
  • Adjust the sugar level according to your taste.
