Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk and egg.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
  4. Insert sticks into hot dogs and dip each into the batter.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pot and fry the corndogs until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels before serving.
