Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. Let them cool.
  7. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Frost the cooled cookies.
