Traditional Savory Scottish Baked Pie

A traditional Scottish baked pie that combines turkey bacon and chicken ham for a deliciously savory experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 200g turkey bacon
  • 150g chicken ham
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200ml chicken broth
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a pan, cook the chopped onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the turkey bacon and chicken ham, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in the chicken broth, thyme, and pepper, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Fill the pie crust with the mixture and cover with another pie crust.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
