  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm.
  8. While cookies are baking, make the ganache by heating the heavy cream until just simmering, then pour over the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  9. Once cookies are cool, drizzle ganache over the top and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • For extra texture, add chopped nuts to the cookie dough.
  • These cookies can be decorated with sprinkles for a festive touch.
